Job Summary

ARISET Medical Centre is seeking a competent and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to support accurate laboratory testing, specimen processing, equipment maintenance and quality-control activities.

The successful candidate will work closely with other healthcare professionals to produce reliable test results while maintaining patient confidentiality, laboratory safety and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, identify, label, sort and log patient specimens correctly.
  • Match laboratory requests with patient and specimen information.
  • Prepare specimens for testing and ensure appropriate storage or transfer.
  • Perform approved laboratory tests within the technician’s authorised scope.
  • Support testing in haematology, clinical chemistry, urinalysis, coagulation, immunology, serology and microbiology.
  • Assist with blood grouping, compatibility testing and other approved blood-bank procedures.
  • Operate laboratory equipment according to established procedures.
  • Run laboratory standards, controls and quality-control checks.
  • Calibrate equipment and report faults or performance concerns promptly.
  • Carry out routine equipment cleaning and maintenance.
  • Record test results accurately and prepare reports for authorised review or delivery.
  • Identify unusual or critical findings and immediately inform the supervising laboratory professional, doctor or nurse.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory registers, electronic records and blood-bank information.
  • Keep work surfaces, testing areas and equipment clean and orderly.
  • Follow infection-prevention, waste-disposal and laboratory safety procedures.
  • Protect patient information and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Participate in staff training, professional development and quality-improvement activities.
  • Perform other laboratory-related duties assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.
  • Current professional registration or licence where required.
  • Previous experience in a hospital, diagnostic centre or clinical laboratory is an advantage.
  • Practical understanding of specimen collection, handling and processing.
  • Ability to operate basic laboratory equipment safely.
  • Knowledge of quality control, infection prevention and laboratory documentation.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to work with electronic laboratory records.
  • Willingness to work assigned shifts, weekends or public holidays where required.

Job Summary

ARISET Medical Centre is seeking an organised and responsible Pharmacy Technician to support the selection, procurement, storage, preparation and supply of medicines.

The successful candidate will assist the pharmacy team in ensuring that medicines are available, stored correctly and supplied safely to outpatients, inpatients, HMO patients and emergency cases under appropriate professional supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the selection and procurement of approved medicines and pharmacy supplies.
  • Receive medicines and verify quantities, batch numbers, expiry dates and product condition.
  • Arrange medicines properly according to approved storage requirements.
  • Monitor temperature-sensitive products and maintain appropriate storage records.
  • Assist with the preparation and supply of prescribed medicines under authorised supervision.
  • Support medicine distribution to outpatients, inpatients, emergency cases and HMO or insurance patients.
  • Confirm prescriptions and patient information before processing medicine requests.
  • Label medicines clearly and provide approved usage instructions.
  • Refer medication-related questions or clinical concerns to the supervising pharmacist.
  • Monitor pharmacy stock levels and identify items requiring replenishment.
  • Conduct routine stock counts and assist with inventory reconciliation.
  • Monitor expiry dates and separate expired, damaged or recalled products.
  • Maintain accurate purchase, supply and inventory records.
  • Assist with HMO, insurance and NHIS-related medicine documentation where applicable.
  • Keep the pharmacy clean, organised and secure.
  • Protect patient information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Follow medicine-safety, infection-prevention and workplace procedures.
  • Report stock shortages, medication discrepancies and storage problems promptly.
  • Perform other pharmacy-related duties assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Pharmacy Technology or a related discipline.
  • Current professional registration or licence where required.
  • Previous experience in a hospital, community pharmacy or healthcare facility is an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of medicine storage, stock control and prescription processing.
  • Ability to maintain accurate pharmacy and inventory records.
  • Basic computer and data-entry skills.
  • Willingness to work assigned shifts, weekends or public holidays where required.
